ADHD Treatment for Children, Teens, Adults

Support for Adult ADHD

If you have spent years feeling scattered, overwhelmed, or like you just cannot get out of your own way.  You are not lazy, and you are not broken. Adult ADHD is one of the most underdiagnosed conditions in mental health, and it affects far more people than most realize.

At Balanced Psychiatry, I specialize in diagnosing and treating ADHD in adults through a personalized, telehealth-based approach. You do not have to come into an office. You do not have to wait months for an appointment.

Adult ADHD Help

ADHD in adults rarely looks like the hyperactive kid bouncing off the walls.

  • Starting tasks feels impossible, even ones you care about
  • You lose track of conversations, keys, deadlines, and ideas constantly
  • Your mind races or wanders even when you need to focus
  • You work twice as hard as everyone else just to keep up
  • Relationships, work, and finances feel harder to manage than they should
  • You  self-medicate with caffeine, busyness, or other substances without realizing it

My ADHD Approach

I do not believe in a one-size-fits-all prescription. I take time to understand how ADHD shows up specifically for you, what has and has not worked in the past, and what your goals are — at work, at home, and in your relationships.

Treatment may include:

  • Comprehensive ADHD evaluation to confirm diagnosis
  • Medication management with stimulant and non-stimulant options such as Adderall, Vyvanse, and Ritalin, and non-stimulants like Strattera and Qelbree.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. As a board-certified PMHNP licensed in Colorado, I can evaluate, diagnose, and prescribe both stimulant and non-stimulant ADHD medications via telehealth — in full compliance with Colorado and federal prescribing regulations. A thorough evaluation is always completed before any prescription is issued.

Yes. I treat ADHD in adults, teens, and children. Each age group presents differently — and I take the time to understand how ADHD shows up specifically for your child or teen, not just their symptoms on a checklist.

Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Vyvanse work quickly and are effective for most people with ADHD. Non-stimulant options like Strattera or Intuniv are a better fit for some patients — including those with anxiety, a history of substance use, or who did not respond well to stimulants. We decide together which approach fits your specific situation.

My ADHD evaluation is thorough and conversational — not just a checklist. Here is what the process looks like:

· We start with a comprehensive intake session where I gather your full history — childhood, school, work, relationships, and how ADHD symptoms have shown up across your life.

· I use validated screening tools and clinical interviews to assess the type and severity of your ADHD.

· We discuss what has and has not worked in the past — previous diagnoses, medications, coping strategies.

· I rule out other conditions that can look like ADHD — anxiety, depression, sleep issues, and thyroid problems can all mimic ADHD symptoms.

· At the end of the evaluation I share my findings and we build your treatment plan together.  No brain scans, no lengthy paper tests. Just a real conversation with a clinician who takes the time to actually listen.
